It was hard to find a place where I could sit and paint and not be blocking the path of the steps. Martin says we were about 680 ft., not the 550 of my estimate. Just imagine my sherpa, he had to climb off of the steps and behind me to get this shot with Little Skellig in the distance. My hat is on sideways because wearing it straight blocked the light and some of my vision and was very disorienting while climbing.
